About the Park

In 2010,  during the Green Grand Rapids planning process, a consensus-based park concept plan was developed that has the support of residents and neighborhood associations.   This project would develop a City-owned parking lot and vacant parcel into Pleasant Park, a 2.4-acre neighborhood park located at 400 Pleasant Ave, at the intersection of Madison and Pleasant.  In late 2011, the Natural Resources Trust Fund at the State of Michigan and Community Development Block Grant funds were awarded to the project.   An additional $317,000 is required to construct the park.  If those funds can be raised, development is expected to occur in 2013.
